Mid-Semester Motivation

Loknath Das

It’s about that time in the semester when motivation is needed more than ever. While final exams are right around the corner, it often feels like the finish line is out of sight. It’s useful to remember why you started your journey with Penn State World Campus to help maintain a motivated mentality.

Last week, we asked students on social media what keeps them motivated to work hard throughout the semester. Here’s what they had to say.

“My friend. My kids. My dream.”

“Looking into the mirror every morning and telling myself, ‘Today is going to be a great day.’ You have two choices each day — be positive or negative. Which one do you think will get you further ahead?”

“Knowing that the last day of the semester is right around the corner.”

“My friends helped me.”

“My children. Checking off another goal from my bucket list.”

“Family and a brighter future.”

“My friends and my future.”

“My family and Dr. Goldstein… I don’t know how I would have made it without them.”

“Keeping up with my wife (who’s in a doctorate program) … oh, and my goals! Yeah, goals!”

“Finishing the semester strong!”

“The prospect of making the Dean’s List.”

“The light at the end of the tunnel.”

“My son.”

Don’t forget to remind yourself of what you’re working toward! The journey can be difficult, but focusing on the end goal can keep you motivated.
