Xiaomi is launching the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro in India next month. Both the phones are expected to launch in the third week of July. Alongside the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro the company is also looking to launch the SmartDeshkasmartphone aka the Redmi 7A. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 7A will launch in India next month. The company is yet to officially reveal the launch date of the Redmi 7A.

The Redmi 7A India launch may either happen alongside the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro or before the Redmi K series goes official in the country. The Redmi 7A is already official in some international markets and is now all set to enter the Indian market. We expect the global model of the Redmi 7A will come to India as well. This means the Redmi 7A will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset and not a MediaTek chipset like the Redmi 6A.

As far as the specs are concerned the Redmi 7A comes packed with a 5.4-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset paired with up to 3GB RAM and up to 32GB storage. On the camera front, the Redmi 7A includes a single sensor on the front as well as on the back. On the rear panel, the phone includes a 13-megapixel camera sensor while on the front the phone equips a 5-megapixel camera. The phone runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4000mAh battery bundled with 10W charger.

As for the pricing the Redmi 7A will be priced as aggressively as the previous generation Redmi A series phones like the Redmi 6A, among others. In China, the Redmi 7A is available for starting price of 549 Yuan that roughly translates to Rs 5,500. This price is for the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant of the Redmi 7A. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7A in two variants in China – 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The price of the 3GB RAM model of the Redmi 7A in China is 599 Yuan that translates to Rs 6,000 approximately. We believe the India price of the Redmi 7A will be close to the China price.
