India space launch delayed by technical problem

What is the purpose of this mission? India hopes that Chandrayaan-2, a $150 million mission, will be the first to land on the south pole of the Moon. It will concentrate on the lunar surface, where it will, among other things, look for water and minerals, measure moonquakes, and so on. India will become the fourth nation to successfully land on the Moon’s surface. This has only been possible for the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union.

The chief of the Indian Space Research Organization (Isro), K Sivan, described this as “the most complex space mission ever to be undertaken by the agency.” While India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has advocated for the country’s space programs, critics would prefer to see domestic poverty addressed first. The lander and rover were anticipated to arrive in the beginning of September if the launch had gone according to plan. India’s space agency is yet to give more details on why the launch was delayed and how it will affect the timeline.
India’s first Moon mission – Chandrayaan-1, which launched in 2008 – resulted in the probe crash-landing on the lunar surface. However, it used radars to conduct the first and most thorough search for water on the Moon. What will it take to reach the Moon? Moon vehicle 2 Chandrayaan-2 will attempt a soft landing close to the Moon’s little-explored south pole. India is using its most powerful rocket, the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk-III), in this mission. At 44 meters (144 feet), it is as tall as a 14-story building and weighs almost 1.5 times as much as a fully loaded 747.
