Microsoft has announced that the 1TB Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 variants have been released in 10 markets. Interested buyers in Australia, Austria, China, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom can now purchase the devices from Microsoft Stores, participating partner retailers, and authorised resellers.
The Redmond-based company has also announced that it will bring the devices to Germany and Japan later this month. In summer, the company will also look to release it in Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, and the Netherland. While the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has alreadybeen launched in India, the 1TB SSD variant was only available in US and Canada till now. No variants of the Microsoft Surface Book have been launched in the Indian market so far. There’s no word yet on when – and if – the 1TB Surface Pro 4 will launch in India.
The 1TB variants come configured with sixth-gen Intel Core i7 processors paired with 16GB of RAM. The Surface Book also houses Nvidia GeForce graphics alongside. For a refresh, the Windows 10-based Surface Pro 4 laptop sports a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display with 3:2 aspect ratio and 2736×1824 pixels screen resolution.The laptop-tablet hybrid Surface Book doubles up as a tablet due to its 360 degree hinges. It sports a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with a screen resolution of 3000×2000 pixels (pixel density 267ppi) and Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
For US users, Microsoft has announced an offer where interested buyers can go and purchase the Surface Pro 4 and the Xbox One in a bundle at a $300 discount. The offer lasts only till August 14. The company is also scheduled to release the Windows 10 Anniversary update on August 2. The update is said to bring many improvements including upgrades to Hello and Cortana. While the update will be free for Windows 10 users, it will cost $119 (around Rs. 8,000) to those who want to upgrade from previous versions of Windows.
