Write About Trending Topics

Hot topics trend for a reason: people want to read about them. Even if the subject has been discussed by other bloggers in your niche, there’s a good chance people will want to read more. There are two things to keep in mind when writing about hot topics: be unique and be timely. Bring a fresh perspective to the table while the topic is still trending.

Be Practically Useful

People tend to share content they find genuinely useful. If you offer solutions to real problems your audience struggles with, you’ll see more exposure than if you produce content that doesn’t provide value.

Always ask yourself the question many readers ask themselves before choosing their content. What’s in it for me?

No matter what you write about, show readers how to apply it in their own lives. Give them what they’re actively seeking and you’ll see your content will have a bigger reach.

Evoke Emotions

Emotions – like fear, anxiety, joy, awe, and surprise – are crucial when it comes to getting your article to go viral. Many people make decisions based on emotions, so when you evoke these strong feelings through your writing, readers will have the urge to respond. If the reader feels that their friends or family could benefit from the information they are likely to share the content on their various social networks.

When brainstorming your article, write to your buyer personas (not sure what they are? Read this guide). You can write to a variety of emotions; for example articles that shock, anger, challenges the status quo, inspire or uplift. You will see more a response from your audience when you evoke sharable content.

Make the Most of Links and Research ToolsLinking to the official source of a topic is a simple way to get noticed. This leads to recognition by the source and more traffic to your blog. Fortunately for marketers, there are free tools. Google suggest refers to the keywords you type in the Google search bar and Google suggests the next most commonly searched term. Google Insights, has a few tools to help generate insight from the data you produced. These resources are great for generating ideas for your next blog post.
