Whyness Worldwide has been handed the creative mandate for Godrej Locking Solutions and Systems, one of India’s most iconic brands.

This union is a second strategic coming together of Godrej and Whyness, as this follows immediately after Godrej having awarded Whyness with the creative duties of its upcoming premium furniture brand.

Godrej Locking Solutions and Systems now looks to deepen its brand footprint and consolidate its presence and reach in a market that it has dominated for decades. Whyness will bring its expertise in traditional and digital communication, as well as design and data, to galvanise a brand that has an ideal mix of heritage and future-ready capabilities.

Instagram Stories Live Video Feature Rolling Out to Users Worldwide: Here's How it Works

After releasing it in November and making it available only to users in the US, Instagram has now introduced live broadcasting on Instagram Stories for users worldwide. The Live video feature will work in the same way as Facebook Live, and will allow users to go live for its followers to see real-time feed via the social app.

Live video on Instagram Stories is rolling out globally for all users with version 10.0 and above across platforms. The new Live button shows up on Instagram Stories, which appears when you swipe right on the home page. The Live Button now sits at the extreme left in Instagram Stories section, followed by the Normal, Boomerang, and Hands-free mode. Hit the Start live video button and the app will start looking for a proper connection. Once it is satisfied with the connectivity, a countdown starts to warn you to get ready for the live video. As the live video starts, followers are notified of the development so that they could come and watch the live broadcast. The number of people watching your live video is also shown on the screen.

Unlike Facebook, the live video does not get saved on Instagram, and disappears as soon as you finish with the broadcast. There’s also an option to comment on the live video, and the user can even pin it to the top for everyone to see. The user can alternatively even disable comments if need be. You can switch cameras from rear to front mid-recording, and can even see the time since you started recording by tapping on the Live button on the top-left edge.

Instagram has also added a new section in Explore called ‘Top Live’ that shows you all the people that are live currently with the most popular ones getting the top spot.

Highlights from the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Keynote

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicked off with a lengthy keynote on Monday, June 8 in San Francisco. You might not have been able to attend but here are some highlights from the events first day.

Apple revealed the newest versions of its OS X and iOS 9 operating systems. Both of these operating systems are set to roll out to everyone this fall, free of charge. But if you can’t wait until then, Apple is offering public beta’s for both starting in July while developers can try out a beta starting now.

OS X, named El Capitan, is the newest operating system for iMacs, Macbooks, and Mac Pro. El Capitan will be bringing updates to mail, spotlight search function and Siri. Apple says users can also expect faster app launches and a new multi-task function allowing for side-by-side windows.

The iOS 9 update will be for Apple mobile devices iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Apple claims iOS 9 will be bringing improvements to Siri, promising 40 percent more accuracy and faster response times. Battery life is supposed to get an upgrade with the update as well. Apple says iPhone users can expect up to an hour more battery life with a full charge and typical use. A new low power mode is supposed to extend battery life up to 3 hours for normal use.

The Maps app will now include a new Transit map with the iOS 9 upgrade. Transit map is designed to appeal to those living in larger cities by offering features like step-by-step walking instead of just driving directions. Transit Map will first be available in 10 cities: Baltimore, Berlin, Chicago, London, Mexico City, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington DC.

Apple also announced it is expanding Apple Pay with more retailers now participating. Discover Card will be joining Apple Pay as well as Best Buy, Trader Joe’s and Dunkin Donuts. Apple Pay will also be expanding further internationally by coming to the United Kingdom some time in July.
